The department was officially constituted in 2005 when the then Teacher Training Colleges was upgrade to tertiary status and named as Colleges of Education in Ghana to award a 3 – year Diploma in Basic Education under the mentorship of Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
The department is made up of two units namely Mathematics and ICT with four (4) and (2) faculty members in each unit respectively. The department is gender sensitive and hence can boast of two female and four males. The department chops several successes among them are:
